iClass - Multimedia Training
iClass was created by Moloko Group Holdings in response to a need identified by the Gauteng Online Project. The Project’s goal was to equip schools across the province with access to computer equipment and other multi-media elements, but it faced significant security concerns.
Moloko Group Holdings redesigned television units to incorporate elements of television, DVD and computing equipment, essentially providing a multi-media solution that, on initial inspection, looks like nothing more than a television set. Further security measures, along with the complete refurbishing of identified computer laboratories have meant that, to date, 1200 schools in Gauteng have access to computer technology – a total of one million learners and 66 000 educators.
